How we compare
Compare Health Insurance is a comparison website and does not give financial advice. Quote requests made through this site are handled by our advice partner, Curemed (Pty) Ltd, FSP 44098, an authorised financial services provider. We compare only products available through our advice partner, so this comparison is not independent of it. Every figure is from the named public source on the stated date.
Which products do we include?
We include health insurance products that our advice partner, Curemed (Pty) Ltd (FSP 44098), can quote and sell, and only where the insurer publishes its premiums and benefits. This comparison is therefore not independent of our advice partner, and it does not cover every health insurance product in South Africa.
We do not include medical scheme options. Health insurance is a different product; see health insurance vs medical aid.
Where does every figure come from?
- Premiums and benefits come only from the insurer's own product page, brochure or policy document.
- Every page lists its sources and the date we read them.
- Where two documents from the same insurer disagree, we show the figure from the current product page and say so. Your quote confirms the price.
- We never estimate a premium. If an insurer does not publish a price, we say so.
How do we order products?
Tables are sorted by the published premium for the main member, lowest first. That is a price order, not a ranking of quality. We compare benefits as well as price, including waiting periods, limits and what is not covered.
How often do we check?
We re-read every source at least once a month and in full each January, when insurers publish new premiums. Last full check: 21 October 2026.
How is this website paid for?
The website does not charge you. Quote requests are passed to our advice partner, which earns commission from the insurer if you buy a policy. Commission does not change the order of the tables.
